The first round of qualifying for the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is in the books. Problems FC (NISA Nation) were shut out 5-0 on the road by Temecula FC (UPSL) on Saturday at Chapparal High School Stadium. The Quails dominated from the start, and Diego Valle scored two goals to help his side advance to the second round of qualifying next month. In a battle between two Southwest Premier League foes, STG Premier FC (SWPL) cruised past Be Pro FC (SWPL) 5-0 at Snow Canyon Stadium in St. George, UT, to advance. At Mater Academy East High School Stadium, Sin City FC (NISA Nation) edged Las Vegas United FC 2-1 (SWPL) in Las Vegas, NV. Sin City FC held a 1-0 lead, scored by Roberto Soto (aka Beto) just before halftime, but Las Vegas United FC leveled the match in the second half. Beto struck again, slotting home the winning goal to lead Sin City FC to victory and join STG Premier in advancing to the second round of qualifying. Capo FC received a bye to the second round.

NISA Nation returns to action with two matches this weekend. Sin City FC begins its fall season hosting Capo FC on Saturday at Mater Academy East High School Stadium. We also have a league friendly on Saturday as the Los Angeles Force will be on the road to take on the Arkansas Wolves at Charging Wildcat Stadium in North Little Rock, AR. On Sunday, STG Premier Pro begins its fall season against Capo FC.
